American Airlines Pilots Picket at Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport
Don't you just love this when they are in negotiations they picket? Now do you wonder if this company will ever make it? Either way a merger or a stand alone airline it doesn't look too good. Tomorrow does not look much better.
I feel the pilots and crew use the customers as a bargain tool! Last week I was delayed for 3 hours in Dallas and the crew and pilot were rude and made the delay the worst I've had in my flying history. I will never fly AA again! Remember TWA? In a couple years we will be saying remember AA!
Please asked to be upgraded they will be having a broadway show for your benefit. Maybe they werent happy because the equipment was in poor shape or the weather was poor or a multitude of other reasons. Be a good boy sit in your seat and youll get there.
What's your point? It seems to me that this is typical negotiating strategy. Show the other side you are unified and of one mind.
It seems more important now than ever before. AMR is on a short timeline. They don't have years to waste like the last 6 they've wasted. If AMR tries to over reach again they have other people to answer to, the UCC and the judge.
But, since this band of executive misfits has ticked off everyone they've dealt with I think the message might be wasted on them.
My prediction? They will over reach again and the pilots will reject it and plan on reentering Section 6 negotiations post BK. And probably with new management.
best solution - liquidate AMR , auction off assets to produce at least some % of salvage for the creditors ..the reduced capacity can then allow the industry wide pricing power for sound economics with a rational profit and a restoration of quality transportation . A reasonable number of the excellent AMR eemployees should be hired by the gaining airlines. This circus has been stumbling along for a year .....absurd .
