It was a bad move! Either they should have kept Fister and let him to reorganize, or kept his staff to keep company from falling into chaos! Now all VPs (how many do they have!?) are on their own. They will break rank and create a hyper political environment that will last a quarter or two if it does not bring down the company all together. Meanwhile the company will lose its edge and market share!
What you mean "asking" an inept CEO to leave? Hows that wrong? If only the finacial & banking industry had done that a couple years ago. I've had the displeasure of working for a former Intel turned CEO for another company & it seems they're all worthless - IDT anyone? Yeah these guys made tons of cash for Intel at the height of the Web & Tech Bubble but who didn't? These guys were never smart enough to run a company. Well I'm sure he got his bonus after laying off a bunch of people - if only he was "actually" good at his job he could have gotten his bonuse & not let anyone go! Word of adive don't invest in companies with ex-Intel's running them!
Synopsys has eaten their lunch on the ASIC side, and OpenAccess will cause a degradation of their market share from the Full-Custom side (Yes, Cadence invented OA, but kno that it's out of the bottle Cadence will reap little or no rewards from it ) Their support is sub-par, and product pricing messy.
My heart goes to the employees who lost their jobs- hang in there guys!
