Same old same old. Promises of a new horizon. There are several problems with their touted IP strategy. One is they overpaid for Tensilica and secondly their channel has no experience in selling IP. It's all very well building a portfolio, if you don't have a track record in the business it'll take a long time to ramp and see a return. I'd like to here what the plan is and what their actual IP revenue projections are. Buying small EDA company's and absorbing them is something Cadence has done for years. IP, well let's wait and see - likely to be a long wait.
I read thru the transcript and it seemed the analysts were fairly upbeat about but I do not understand the revenue/EPS.
How can they guide down the EPS but guide up the revenue and the Tensilica purchase was only a -.01 impact to their EPS.
