    stink to high heaven. How can this company lose so much money!

    • Harnischfeger went all the way to BK, chapter 11 for a reason. I warned on this in post 24.

      If you're looking for a beat up and undeservedly so and safe, a utility, stock that will recover...do your due diligence on Mirant. 2002 EPS guidance from mangement is $1.60-$1.70 and the most recent analyst consensus went from $1.85 to $1.84. Yesterday's close $8.68.

        Mt. Vernon without a contract.
        Meadowlands starting to negotiate a contract.
        Wellington saying that everything corporate promised, after the union was voted down, has not been followed up with action.
        Local management costing the company thousands of dollars in legal cost from poor decision making because of a problem created by them where there was not a problem.
        I have never seen this company in such a confused sense of direction.
        We have failed policy after failed policy and still no changes, but what can we expect from an upper management that brought us the highwall mining system.
        Joy was built on reliability and service but we currently have a management team saying we don't care if we lose market share as long as we can make more money on higher dollar parts. So if we lose thirty percent now forty percent later and fifty percent in the future who cares.
        CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE will be the downfall of Joy.
        Along with losing market share in areas of the country we also lose service confidence and create customer dissatisfaction which opens the door for competitors, which I will have to say WE are our best competitor. Why doesn't management just give the customer our vendor numbers and THEY can call them.
        When competitors advertise 48 hour emergency drum service and not three to ten weeks who are they referring too?
        Why is corporate working so hard on building cat tracks, ductwork and final assembly covers in Mexico?
        Is this to better our product or just focusing on how they can take something away from another union shop in the good ole USA.
