If you can collar a stock, it is always a good idea, even though you might lose a little of your potential profits.
Too many people bought in early in this one, and then we just had the unexpected result of Fanny and Freddy being taken over. All those guys on margin are sweating bullets now. It's bad enough to lose your investments in Fanny and Freddy, but then to have it snowball as you get margin-sold out of other stocks as the market drops.
Ugh. Just bad luck. But I always expected CPSL to drop more than SUTR, and I sure got a surprise today.
Pain-a-plenty today.
Don't feel bad, because I successfully predicted the market rise yesterday, and the plunge today (on last Friday), but I didn't foresee the ancillary results in some other stocks I was holding, and I bought more way too soon.
Tomorrow, I will not even try to predict.
Good luck!
