Funny people say "something fishy is going on" while the whole banking system (let alone the "free markets") are one giant scam... I mean, u play the monopoly game, or you don't, but please, let's not pretend out noses bleed ;)
+1. The speculators and the cartel have all ganged up on this one, and the type of buyers that we want (long term value investors) simply have not stepped up to the plate.
You can bet that the cartel and hedgies are keeping an eye on volume though. As long as it sucks, they can, and will, continue to push the miner stocks around. Long term - this is money in the bank though, and a great buying opportunity. Once the hedgies have had their fill at the buffet table and flip the trade, we'll be off to the races again.
I've noticed also that the prices of the pm stocks almost always precede the move in the futures. I've watched over and over and over the stocks take a dive and, a few minutes to an hour later, the futures and spot prices follow.
