    look at quarterly reports...

    edmund...

positive exploration and development technology surprises are always lurking beyond
the conceptualization and management prowess of those in charge TODAY...

just look at the shale hosted oil and gas now being developed under vast areas
of the United States, including thoroughly explored/developed West Texas...

it is the negative surprises that shatter one's plans...because the frailties of
imagination, pursuit and integrity make a minor impact in dragging down
positive potential but a huge negative impact upon otherwise probable
successful realization of a well orchestrated plan...

from the history of CDE, there have already been plentiful negative surprises...as
doled out to the investment public by the management...what does that future
    continue to hold? I dunno...

there are exploration groups that lay out less than complete geologic models
to the investment public, while giving up assays, etc, quite factually...which
vague models are possibly intended to keep competition low...and if one
identifies such a situation and chooses to invest and be a part of that,
it makes no sense to share something that might lessen one's financial rewards
from his geologic model that he thinks is more powerful than that presented...

holding vast areas of mineral rights is only productive with employment of
useful target models and smart capital pursuit of those...in a cycle timely
fashion....that is less easily done than contemplated...to the chagrin of
all we geniuses having relatively short and weak pursuit life investments...

if you want to see the history of a man who wildly succeeded in such
pursuit, please look into Chuck Fitpke's biography...the man who followed
Canadian diamonds for years across the barren north lands....

it can be done...way beyond the paths and temperaments of the herds...
and, today, some venture capitalists are linking up with folks of that
different temperament...and perhaps you might find opportunities
lurking around those situations? if you do, it will probably be
minimally a decade or more before it results in financial rewards...
but, your CDE has already been a rather lengthy undertaking...no?

    deliberately vague is:

    • specifically, edmund, I have NOT done a detailed study of the exploration
being done by CDE and Paramount in that area...but it is my guess that
it is being done competently by both groups using reasonable and common
effective technology with relatively well understood geologic models...that
still allows for LUCK and good timing to play a large role in how their efforts
      turn out...

for whatever it is worth...this is not a situation where I believe I could second
guess whatever they are doing or might be doing...from a distance or from
      being there...

    • Fipke. As in:

Fipke & his longtime partner, geologist Stewart Blusson, each retain a
10%(!!) interest in the Ekati mine. (Blusson later gave $50 million to
UBC, his alma mater). When the big bucks rolled in, Fipke's marriage
fell apart, his brother sued him (as did many others), and his son
stopped speaking to him. The Big Strike had its costs.

      • YEP...

to pry from the earth the PRIZE there is a PRICE...
real wealth, resources, are NOT obtained for FREE...

not that the politicians, banksters, ad men, and all
keep saying so they may control the fruits of the work
        obtaining WEALTH....

so many times, most everyone in extraction of wealth
from the land ARE and have been viewed as only
        COTTON PICKERS...foremen and plantation owners
also sometimes cast into the lower social economic
        caste as well...

it can end as badly as Zimbabwe or not as badly with
carpetbaggers set loose by the industrialist elite...and in
that case actually taking some other ugly middle men
and their system out of the program...

in all cases, there are COSTS to be paid while building...

        reflect upon that...
