I don't think earnings will be terrible, probably in-line. Remember tablets are still very marginal to the business. Main drivers are more smartphones for profit and set-top boxes for cash flow. And don't forget about China, which is MMI's 2nd biggest smartphone market after U.S. And even if less phones are sold overall, if more SMARTPHONES are sold that translates to more profit. Funny enough, I'm actually worried about MMI's stable business of set-top boxes, since consumer electronic sales outside of smartphones/tablets have been very disappointing and less tv's sold means less set top boxes.
Yeah. So far pretty bad for me. I agree with all your fundamentals. The only reason I am betting against this is because quarterly earnings are around he corner and they are not going to be fun. The sales of set top boxes and xoom2 would be modest at best while smart phones would come slightly ahead. I dont see an acceleration in revenue which can propel this higher. The BV of 17 bucks is mainly because of Additional PIC of 5 bn and 110 mn of equity has already eroded thus far this year
I hope they get bought out and you shorts get totally slammed! and I dont think their earnings numbers will be bad, their smartphone sales at VZ and S are GREAT!! you need to talk to a MMI sales rep, I got one for a friend!! teee heee!!!
