It would be a major surprise. Besides the patents, all Google is really doing is vertically integrating to get a more direct path to the consumer. I think we can think of another company that does both hardware and software for their products.
If Google/Motorola would be too anti-competitive, then by the same logic, Apple should be separated into two separate companies as well for hardware and software.
I don't see anti-competitive here, but AT&T will fight the ruling....and if the DOJ "stands it's ground", they'll block this deal for the sake of parity or equity or maybe just to be stubborn and stupid (that's our government) So the more AT&T fights, the more the DOJ gets squeezed and the more idiotically unreasonable they become.
