    UBMT 5:4 Split

If UBMT maintains their dividend after the December 28, 2005 distribution, the dividend of $1.12 will equal about 5 percent annually at $20.75 per share, the last offer. This one has been a nice investment for us and we're adding to our position...if there are sellers out there!
Prosperous New Year to all. Adios.

    • pvbud - I try to check at least a little whenever some small bank gets a favorable mention - last summer a msg board I hadn't looked at previously, someone - possibly you - mentioned UBMT - I liked it - took a position and was pleasantly surprized at Q2 and Q3 growth rates. Doubt if they will continue the $1.12 after a 25% share increase - with payout ratio allready high - put a well covered proportional $0.90 is still attractive.

IIBK as Pin noted has also done very nicely - now about 2.4 x my entry price in 02. Always seemed a little too pricey to top my shopping list so I never added - wrong again.

      • Hi Ray, good to hear from you. After previous splits (stock dividends) UBMT has either maintained, or increased the cash dividend. From my observations, banking economics are very promising in Montana now, UBMT added a full service operation during 2005, so I would not be surprised if the Bank maintains the current cash dividend for as long as it makes sense to their Minnesota "inside" holders.
We shall see... We've been consistent sellers during 2005, however, we're adding to some investments, including this one.

I'll certainly look at IIBK. Thanks for the mention. Good wishes.
