    While You Can

State, county and township budgets are shrinking fast. Arizona for example is more than $1 billion in the hole and scrambling. McPrison is no longer America's "growth industry". The new investment game is capital preservation, the old is capital growth. In with the new, out with the old. Get out while you can!!!

    • slowdriver67, all of your numbers were yesterday so if you sold your stock already, you're in good shape. For those of you who are holders of WHC stock, check out the fundamentals. Tax revenues are down alot and declining. Taxes pay for prisons. Just the facts, M'am.
slowdriver67, try to control your emotions so we can hear your logic. Anybody can throw a tantrum.

    • What insight!!! Do you have a PhD?

Revenues at WHC grew from $312.8M in '98 to $535.6M in '00. EPS for the third Qtr. in '01 was $0.27 vs. $0.11 in '00. For the first nine months of '01, EPS was $0.65 vs. $0.56 last year. Revenues for the first nine months of '01 was up 4.7% over last year, driven by new facilities opened in 7/00 and offset by lower construction revenue. For the 3rd Qtr. '01, revenues were also up 4.7% over last year as the result of new facilities.

Back to your ridiculous pot view,

First of all, there's no way it will become legal in your lifetime, you old bag.

Second, even if you are right and marijuana drug offenders are let out of prison in conjuction with legalization, wouldn't the demand for increased electronic monitoring be increased benefiting WHC?

Seriously, spare yourself any further humiliation and shut it.

    • The future prospects of WHC suck, and that's the very point the economy is making while you ignore it at your peril. The U.S. is the last hold out on marijuana, even England, the country that copies everything American, has moved toward legalization. The U.S. has spent more than $100 billion on a federal level in the past several years and nothing has changed except that there's more choices and the price has gone down. The only winner is organized crime.

    • Again, you have no clue...."Illegal drugs are a luxury item."....Ever heard of meth, crank, crack? I wouldn't exactly call those luxury items. How does an addict pay for his daily fix? By stealing and committing crimes against law-abiding citizens. Again your right, lets legalize these drugs so that the poor addict can rot away in his own miserable world and sure because it is now legal, he won't be committing anymore crime. Seriously, take your opinions over to www.prisonactivist.org and lets leave this board to discuss the future prospects of WHC.

    • You still have no idea what you are talking about.
