second hand (so it may not be correct), but it was from a friend who either listened in on WHC' conference call last week (or she heard it from someone who was on the call ... but after this "friend of a friend", who knows the accuracy of data).
Anyway, she said that she thought WHC said that 2000 EPS would be lowered to $1.00, but hopefully you are right with the $1.19. However, whoever is right, this whole industry is trading at very low P/E's in relation to their growth, so either way, I see this industry as a BUY (I also like CRN; I'm in both WHC and CRN).
Fullcount, ...thanks to you as well as to Buypanic for furnishing the phone number to listen to the conference call recording. After listening to it, would have to agree with management that prospects for the year 2000 look like flat earnings for WHC, now there are many other and's, but's or if's involved in this comming year projections, and at any rate I will stick with the current 1.19 for the comming year from seven of the ten analyst that follow the company. I belive most of the bad news is out of this sector and a more constructive year 2000 awaits us, ultimately would be hard for me to imagine that the local units of government and federal government would want to shell out the money to plan, design, built and finance the future needed facilities, and that to me is the bottom line, so basically I see this as a rebuiding year much like many sports teams go thru periodically, and not at a funeral.
