    Prospects for 2013+

    A non-profit organization I work with was gifted some GEL stock here at year-end. Often donors make gifts in stock when they think the PPS is at a peak, thereby avoiding taxable (capital) gains, and getting a maximum charitable deduction. I was asked to do a little research on the company, and as part of my DD, I'm wondering if anyone on this MB could give a little insight into GEL, and its prospects for the upcoming year(s), i.e. whether the non-profit should sell the stock now, or hold it for a while.       a great company with agressive superb management that grows its distribution every quarter.
      and its on many buy lists for 2013. its at the top of the list of the second tier,meaning small in cash size,compared to the larger more established mlps.
      however do your own due diligence.but u r in the right area with the right stock for 2013.

        Thanks, DReiser139, for your input. Will be recommending to the non-profit to hold it for a while, and collect some of those growing distributions. A little concerned about its wide diversity of business interests, given its relatively small size. Do hope management is nimble enough to keep things firing on all cylinders.

        Looking at today's move, it certainly was showing some good strength, despite some mid-day selling. Hope it continues upward for a "January effect", at the very least. :-)
