Of course - you cut headcount to the bone and get profitable through reduced expenses. But that's not going to get you a high stock multiple. It will make you an attractive buyout target though.

I think you got it right with "had great products". But the "crummy management" has made that questionable in my book. They have one database line (7.x) that can no longer post credible benchmark numbers. Another (9.x) that is a jumble of market-irrelevant technology. And they have a prayer that the Arrowhead project isn't too-little-too-late to save their bacon.
