"Why should Germans pay for Greece's excesses? Why should a German who works longer hours and retires at a later age bail out some lazy cry baby Greek?"
Bailout is certainly unpalatable thought.
On the other hand, Germany has been the largest beneficiary over the past 11 years from the Euro compact---export stimulated economic growth, job creation, etc. Did Greece contribute to this German (and French, too) prosperity? You better believe it--debt financed lifestyles and consumer demand drove German exports of goods/services, but ran up the national debt and budget deficits until judgement day today.
You don't think that wiser political heads will prevail and approve the bailout funds? You think the Germans, French et al are crazy to risk Eurozone integrity that's been so kind to their own prosperity?
With such a head start, leave it to the Greeks to phuck it up. Germany started from scratch only 60 years ago and built up from ashes. You are asking THEM for a handout with half of your population already in Germany working there. Rebuild Pompei or something and quit your whining.
