Cessna got 413 jet orders at a recent aviation convention in Orlando, 217 of them Mustangs. Production for 2002 sold out and 70% booked for '03. Best start for new products in company history and someone wants to clean house? If they can do this in one of the market's worst times, earnings in '03 should set new highs.
I agree that the best thing Cessna can do is get as far away from TXT as possible before they ditch you. Textron is only after the revenues and doesn't give a rats a@# for any of the people that work hard for them everyday to generate the revenue. As far as laying off the dead weight,Cessna had better have their ducks in a row because documentation will be expected supporting the decisions on who to layoff or not to layoff plus there are legal issues that need to be considered before making off the cuff decisions in situations like that.
