Why the drop? And the answer is........

After reading several of todays posts you would think that DIY and p_l_u_s_c_a_r_d_s and a few others had contributed to the drop... lol

    Here is the real reason:

After rising nearly 20% in the last two months
Leman Brothers cautioned/recommended that investors take some money off the table.

    • Hmmm

Redefeat_thebulge_04 announced that he shorted above $80. Then he switched from one of the most active posters to one of the least active.

DIY_1 started sounding like a short. Then he switched from one of the least active posters to one of the most active.

Hmmm, are these two different sides of the same person?

By the way, good call on the timing of your short. Todays downgrade by Leman Brothers is probably the first of many. We have about a month before all of the analysts start analyzing historical trends and recommend that their clients dump before the release. Sad but true, profits are profits and these folks are gonna want their clients to take the profits whilst they can.

      • nothing much to say, except i'm still here and definitely not diy...and thanks for noticing the potentially excellent timing of my short position...but really my long time fans have come to expect it, but thanks again anyway...really thanks...

      • The game is afoot. Big institutions started loading up in the mid to high sixties. Pixars next big block buster is a little more than a month away. End of year is still over three months away and institutions are going to want to show a decent profit. All of the companies that are holding shares are going to either hold or reconfirm their recommendations. They will do this so both the company and their clients have a chance to exit in an orderly manor. Rest assured, we wont know that they dumped their shares until the downgrades start pouring in.

Sure, Pixar is heading in to a new phase in their history.

Unfortunately, history tells us that Pixar often drops in the weeks following a release.

Historically, the downgrades come some time during the week prior to the release.

The reasons: Historically Pixar drops, The price is near a record high, etc.

It has nothing to do with the charts, the assets of the company, or the newest product.

It has everything to do with profits and the timing of those profits

Sure they might be better off holding long-term
But some companies want the profits in Q4 and will take pofit soon.

        Prepare for more drops.
        You heard it here first.
