    • Like I said many days ago, the Fed hike is priced
in (a 25 bp hike anyway), and the markets would
rally once uncertainty is removed. Today many jumped
the fun to try to get in ahead of the FOMC decision,
and we all saw the result.

      Barring a 50 bp
hike, which analysts and former Fed govenors (who ought
to know) polled have assigned less than a 10%
probability, the market bottom as of two weeks ago is in place
and new lows will not be seen in major
      indices.

I do believe we are at a short term top however -
hourly RSI and momentum indicators are into extreme
overbought territory, and the Dow, S&P, and Naz are at
strong resistance levels. We should see a selloff this
week, possibly starting as early as tomorrow, but it
will be mild and come nowhere close to previous market
lows. Any dip you see here is the last chance to buy
this market for many weeks to come, IMO.

      I
think PIXR is a strong buy anywhere near here. If it
dips to 36-ish or even to 34-ish on a market dip this
week, it is a better buy, but I would not hold out hope
for prices below 36 at this point.

    • .
Pokemon will take away from Pixar's profits
in the same way that Austin
      Powers took away from
      Star Wars.

      During the Thanksgiving holiday
there will be plenty of competition from several
      outstanding movies.
Pokemon will be the least of our
concerns. I wouldn't worry too much because
      All of the
really great movies will do quite well during the
      Thanksgiving holiday yet
"Toy Story 2" will continue to do
      extremely well throughout Christmas and
      Into the new
      millennium.

In July, I had the privileged to see two clips from
      "Toy Story 2".
      They were both great!

      By all
definitions, "Toy Story 2" is going to be a
      "Blockbuster".
      - The computer animation uses the same breakthrough
      technology as "A Bugs Life".
      - The story is Pixar's best
to date. Captivating, funny and entertaining.
      -
The characters and the actors will appeal to
      moviegoers of all ages.

      Last year, Pixar's "A Bug's
Life" walked all over the competition: "Prince of
      Egypt, Rugrats, Antz"
It only lost ground to Tom
      Hanks in "You've Got Mail".

      This year Tom Hanks
is returning, but this time he stars in "Toy Story
      2".
It appears that Tom knows how to pick the
      winners.

"Toy Story 2 is a superior story with lovable
      characters, incredible animation,
      and a cast of great
      actors and actresses."

      This year I wouldn't be
surprised to hear Buzz Lightyear or Steve Jobs say:

"Bring on the competition We're going to knock, them,
      dead!"

      - Robear

    • walt,

while i agree with your promise that
      greenspan will raise interest rates,
      i must disagree
with your statement that pixar is going to drop to
      $29.
if you made a statement that "some" internet
      companys, with negative
      earnings, will be effected by
the rate hike then, maybe, i could agree
      with
      you.

i disagree with you because pixar is entering the
      fourth quarter with
"a fully loaded deck". This is
going to be a very profitable quarter.
      next quarter
is going to be a profitable quarter. In fact,
      it
could be several years before pixar inccurs a
      loss.

with the release of renderman on nt, pixar showed the
      world that
      their software development process is
      not dead!!!
this is good news, pixar needs to
      keep expanding its product line.

      clips of toy
story 2 look impressive very impressive !!!
      the
bugs life movie was aimed at younger audiences yet

bugs life made over $360 million worldwide.

toy story 2 is aimed at a much larger audience.

people of all ages are going to love it
      toys story 2
could easily earn $500 million worldwide !!!
      and
pixar shares profits "50 / 50" with disney.

      with
great fundementals, strong earnings, new products,

pixar is one of the best plays of the year.

      you
could wait until greenspan raises the interest rate

but be prepared for the buying frenzy that will
      follow.

pixar may reach $50 before the end of this month.

    • about how Pokemon is going to affect Toy Story
II. Wouldn't want my current positions switched
around at this time (I am more in Pixar than KIDE), but
still a little worried. Ran across yet another Pokemon
media article with the following quote:

      That
Pokemon deck is hot. Kids are going nuts over it, said
Ronald Rule, president of U.S. Playing
      Card.

Also, Burger King has another tie-in for the Pokemon
movie like they did with RugRats (which was quite
sucessful). I am hoping Jobs will soon announce some other
plans to increase revenues, as I think we are going to
be let down by TSII. I know it will now be
impossible to meet my original expectations.

    • Andy,

      Checked the Disney "official web
site" and found there's a trailer there...here's the
      address

      http://disney.go.com/DisneyPictures/toystory2/index.html

I looked on Pixar's web site first, but oddly
enough, they don't have any info except to say it'll be
out in 1999 - not even a link to the Disney site.
      Odd.

    • i got you thinking like me. welcome on board partner. we will see $29. then and only then will the rest of you make the big bucks like me.

      real walt

    • OH I HOPE AND PRAY PIXAR DROPS TO $29

      IF
PIXAR GOES TO $29 NE THEN IT WILL BE THE BEST BUY OF
      THE YEAR !!!

ON NOVEMBER, FIRST PIXAR WILL BE
      OVER $60 PER SHARE.

      WHY?

      STRONG EARNINGS
      - IN FACT, THE BEST IN YEARS

      EXPANDED
PRODUCT LINE - RENDERMAN ON NT.

      TOY STORY 2 - A
      GUARENTEED BLOCKBUSTER.

    • Does anyone know when full-length previews for
TS2 will start to show in movie theaters? We are just
3 short months away from the movie, so I wonder
when they will start their advertising and
      promotion.

      Any thoughts?

    • when greenspan raises interest rates not by 1\4
but by 1\2 point this tuesday. We will see pixar at
$29 possibly by the end of the week. Don't get me
wrong pixar is a great stock and anybody who buys it at
around $29 will make lots of money. I've made big
bucks$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$on pixar but now only shorts like me will make
money. I will go long when it hits $29 at the end of the
week. Aren't greenspan and mitchell the two ugliest
people you've ever met? Thank god they are too old to
      make babies.

      real walt

    • Ah, refreshing to see someone "spamming" with an imaginative name. Now brush off your harlequin-like attire and return to the heart of darkness.
