Top US Investor to Buy More Korean Stocks

American investor and businessman Warren Buffett has unveiled plans to buy additional stocks at South Korean firms.

During a general stockholders' meeting at Berkshire Hathaway in Omaha, Nebraska Saturday, Buffett expressed strong interest in the Korean market and said he is looking into buying more Korean stocks.

Currently, Buffett owns stocks of around 20 Korean firms.

Buffett has amassed an enormous fortune from astute investments, particularly through Berkshire Hathaway, of which he is the largest shareholder and CEO.

With an estimated current net worth of some 52 billion dollars in April, Forbes ranked Buffett as the third-richest person in the world.

    • Here comes Buffets latest scam.

I read in LA Times that he strongly urges governor to ditch proposition 13. Hes extremely rich and can afford such measure, but millions of fixed income people will be driven out of their home.

For some, real estate is an opportunity to speculate and make quick bucks like flipping pancakes, but for a majority its a home that provides a shelter and hopefully pass-on gains to future generations, nothing more, no fancy cruises, no me-too Neiman Marcus shopper; Buffet want to deprive their privilege for... You go figure.

For those with bullish view in Korean market, ask yourselves why KOSPI was hovering around 300 when US experienced mild recession in 2002? In previous post, I stated to be careful when this man becomes excessively vocal; and this doomsday may come a lot sooner than I anticipated.

    • You delued loser,it's well known fact only poor Korean immigrate to lamest country like Canada.
because your loser gov't recuiting them and
it's much cheaper to live there than Korea, where Korea is now Asia's most expensive place to live.
Anyone with money and sane mind people wouldn't go to one of the lowest standards of living on earth country like Canada.

    • Buffet said that Korea was "moderately better than other markets, check CNBC for his interview. Unless Korea de-Chaebolizes it is in for a big shock. The top companies have too much power. They built Korea up and unless they change they will be the downfall.

    • Are you really that nave to believe his positive views on Korean market? When this man speaks, watch out.

Many times in the past, Ive seen him become excessively vocal just right before something bad is about to hit. Remember 2001 crash and his speech at Berkeley several months prior to it? This man sure knows publicity and useem to maximize his profit, probably at a cost of your life savings. Ever wondered why Berkshire Hathaway suffered very little when many investors lost greatly during crash of 2001?
