All of the past 10Ks and 10Qs state that the account is 'mostly' IT services provided to Cantor and billed at cost. The 10K every year tells the percentage and the last 10K said 100%. Robertson Stephens in a report estimates it at 90% today.
Ho do you know System Service Fees are not maintaince costs of the system. Where are you getting any figures from SINCE THERE ARE NO FINANCIAL STATEMENTS ON PR PRESS WIRE OR THE CORPORTATE WEBSITE.
For you to have any credibiity you need to give us an actual reliable source for you info.
As a private holding, you will get nothing out of Cantor. So yes, Espd is a stand alone company and as such will have to survive according to it's own merits. The equation that makes this stock a gamble is that it's primary suitor (Cantor) doesn't have to disclose anything. They can manipulate it any way they want. dog
So this looks like an "excess capacity" spin off and you really have to back Cantor out of the equation to get to the real meat as Cantor, from what you imply, is pretty much a breakeven (although I am not sure how you would calculate "cost" with any real precision).
The $5 mln in 'systems services fees' is nearly 100% reveneus from Cantor and billed at cost. The remaining trading revenues (excluding Tradespark) are murky - Cantor is often on one side of the trade 'making liquidity' but sometimes does not pay any fees, according to the 10k. The voice assisted revenues are, in my understanding, trades called in to Cantor and then booked into the eSpeed system. Hope that helps...
i've been watching this stock for awhile...
i jumped in at 14... after earnings were announced.
i don't disagree with you that this thing definitely COULD hit 12.
i've just been burned in the past... waiting for a stock to hit my target... not jumping in... and missing the train.
i was going to buy rfmd at 18... then it went from 20 to 30 over a few weeks (or something like that).
where do you see espd...
in 6 months?
in 12 months?
do you buy the $50 target of lehman bros? (they are always a bit optimistic)
(imo, espd is at 25+ in 5-6 mos. easy)
thanks in advance.
LOL....I really don't have a sister. Just a figure of speech. We don't do that stuff in New England. On the other hand, if you ever get the chance to travel thru Mississippi or Arkansas.......you get the picture!! dog
Going on nothing more than technicals here (see attached link for chart info). I initially bought ESPD at $67 in March of 2000 and kept averaging down to $15 before the last run in Feb. '01. Sold 1000 at $28 in Feb. '01 and felt lucky to get out with a $5,000 loss. The double bottom of 13.25 in Dec. '00 was just breached on it's third try and many computer trading programs have now set a new support level at 12.05 or slightly above. This really isn't guess work. 12.05 will happen eventually. Good luck, dog
