    Options

Tomorrow I get the 700 shares I paid $1.80 for the right to buy at $7.50. My first venture into the ACRX options. Have 25 other calls at various maturities. The spread is wide so I buy them in the money with little time premium with the intention of exercising as a way of leveraging my position. More risk than owning and DO NOT DO THIS AT HOME. I will look to buy another chunk on the next pullback like I did two days ago.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • Another way to trade this using options is sell puts. You will make money as long as it stays the same, Goes up or doesn't drop more than premium. Since the new shares put a floor in it has a high percentage. Just another way to trade so GL Mike

      • hey BlueRidge,

personally, I play with call options. if a stock explodes upwards, you can either sell the call or take possession of the stock at expiration, in the end you have an asset that has intrinsic value (growth strategy).

Selling puts - am i correct in understanding that it puts money in your pocket today and then you play the side of cheering for the stock to stay above the put strike price (but you don't profit from the time you have sold to the time of expiration) ? not knocking it, if I understand it correctly isn't it really a revenue generating strategy rather than a growth strategy ?

I am just trying to understand, so please don't take my post as an insult or anything negative.

        Sentiment: Strong Buy
