I follow the Buffett - dividend strategy religiously with stocks like PG, KO, MCD etc. I have PNNT as the only exception in that it is not a blue chip. My rule is I never sell unless dividends get cut, then I will alwys sell immediately. Would this strategy work with BDCs as well?
The more volitile the the price, the shorter term I want to be......quick profits and gone. However, in this case I got hooked at a higher price and I'm sorta forced to hold for awhile. But I am sure it work out...eventually.
you are wrong about that. I have owned up to 10k shares off and on. I buy when it drops then sell when up and get manage to get some dividends to boot. You got to be short term when you double down to lower the cost of your shares.
I concur. Not sure what it is, but all my big-cap dividend plays (Buffett approach) are doing much better. I guess I should stick with this strategy. I thought I would try a BDC as well but it's a dog.
