I've lost more in the recession then the net worth of most people but - I have enough left and have learned a little. Mainly - don't get greedy and be extremely cautious with equities. It won't happen again. I hope...
In ADVDX? Not sure, might change today. I think break even is 5.025, where break even = (SharePrice * Shares) - MoneySent. Also will change come the end of this month (yeah baby). If I include additional income tax, its still a loss. Not sure how to even do that though, how do you "spread the blame", because other stocks/funds/bonds pay dividends, and income tax is not flat. ADVDX is the biggest contributor though. Should have become an account instead of an engineer.
Still have a capital loss, its a gain after $5.72. I was one of the foolish that bought at $11.
lost $50,00.00 in 2008. As far as the Analyst go as they say in Wyoming where I live "GET THE ROPE". That's also what we say here when a politician says I want to look at imposing a State income tax. And we damn well mean it.
I used to subscribe to Bob Brinker's "Market Timer" and once clicked the mouse on $500,000 as I placed a bet on the QQQ. In the newsletter, he said the NASDAQ could go up another 50%. Unfortunately, I was naive and inexperienced at the time. The market crashed and I had something like 30 cents left on the dollar as the portfolio was not entirely focused in one place. That's about the same time many affiliates dropped Brinker. The only place I've heard him lately is on WJR Detroit. Same old tired concepts. I laugh at myself and then change the channel.
