    Adjustable Dividend

Anyone have a forecast on the what the quarterly dividend will be declared this quarter?

    • If they dont cut the div. this quarter they will have to do it soon. They only have enough cash to pay for the div. for about 6 quarters. That's assuming they have no earnings and they aquire no ships. I used to own this stock but I sold out when the container rates started falling (rates down about 20% in 1 year). Why would a company waste cash on a div when they could use it to aquire more ships? Am I missing something here? The compay also holds more debt than cash these days. I had high hopes for this company 1 yr ago but I feel like the management is destroying the balance sheet. Can anyone explain?

      • At $0.30/shr per quarter, the yield is over 19 %. Even if the dividend was halved to $0.15/shr per quarter, you are getting almost a 10% yield. At $0.10/shr per quarter, you still getting a 6% yield. What's the downside? International trade isn't going away - regardless of what happens to Greece or Europe. Yes, the carriers in the Asia - Europe trade are reducing capacity to hold FEU rates up but that is a well-developed trade route not where the growth is expected to come - like South America or even Africa.

        Sentiment: Buy

    • According to the CC, they are comfortable about their ability to maintain a .30 Div. That's from memory. Probably want to check yourself. Look at the Q&A, Good luck.
