For the cash they got scrapping the three M's, they could buy a single, old Panamax to replace those three, with an inflated charter. So they lose the cash flow of three ships, and get one in return.
To sustain the dividend they would need to get more ships at inflated charters. OK, they are raising cash via the offering possibly the DSX loan t. There, you get dilution and increased in interest expenses. Plus that, it's just a continuation of the game of praying and hoping charter rates rise significantly before the inflated charters expire.
I was a shareholder here shortly before the very first offering. One of my reasons at the time was because I admired the way they managed DSX. But this company is not being managed in the same way as DSX.
I have one question and I am not being mean or sarcastic. Why do you continue to post here if you have no position in the company. If you are short than ok I understand, and if you are short I could care less to be honest, but if are not long or short why waste your time? Like I said just curious.
Since you don't 'get it" by now, you never will.
The conversation was about the sustainability of the dividend, and the revenue.
And the effects that dilution, and or a dividend cut should have on the share price.
Obviously we were right about the dilution.
The debt deal was a new wrinkle.
Not a particularly pretty one.
We'll see what happens.
The fact that you are crowing about a short term rise in price, before the dilution starts.
Before they purchase ships.
Shows that the conversation went over your head.
You paranoid idiots can't handle a little intelligent debate about the issues.
A sentiment shared by the analysts who cover the company.
Since fundamentals are so hard for you to comprehend.
Just stay out of the conversation.
You can just post : "Yay DCIX!"
And "DCIX to $100!!"
I know we are not as smart as you. You continually make posts about people tyring to chase people off the board, look at your comment from above. ( I am going to tell yahoo that you are not nice) I'm not paranoid, the company is ran by a good managment team and has a well financed parent with a large stake of money invested in DCIX. We all know you are smarter than them.
Anyone who disagrees with your outlook is stupid and incabale of joining the converstion. While you refuse to listen to the opposite point of view. Remember GET LAID you need it. Calm down and take a deep breath.
So to recap, paranoid no, cashing dividend checks yes
