It looks like Lineage is roughly twice as big as Vicor ($450m revenues vs $227m, 2,300 employees vs 938). Since our market cap is $632m and GE paid only $520m for Lineage, I would assume the latter had a goodsized chunk of debt, which makes sense since they were owned by a private equity firm. One puzzling note: GE says they paid 8 times Lineage's enterprise value. Since Yahoo! puts Vicor's enterprise value at $582m, this would value the company at $4.65b,a pleasing though unlikely prospect. Perhaps someone with some background in accounting or acquisitions can unravel this.
