    Insiders, Jetchemist

J-chemist, Yes I am still out here. I first noticed Lee Cole exercising some options and selling stock in March 2010. He had quite a few options that I knew of and at least 200,000 from a stay on award from a couple of years ago. So no big deal I thought. Plus, he has been holding a huge amount of shares for years and years. He has to sell sometime or what is the point in having them? But his selling in June of 2010 spooked even me. Now, as you guys pointed out, there has been some heavy selling from Lee, and now others recently. Now I know that Lee watched his stock go from $25.00 to $6.00 a few years back. He missed the entire run up, and suffered through a terrible correction. So I say hey, He should sell some this time up here in the thin air of $22.00. I really cannot blame him after what he lived through. It was a good point that even though these guys are selling, and even some "large blocks" from our point of view, the amount sold are really just a small fraction of what they hold. Now I did sell some myself. I always do when I see a CVGW quote starting with the number $22. I then will be known to buy it back when I see a CVGW quote starting with the number $15. I do this with some shares, but Keep a core holding of CVGW. Right now, the whole picture is cloudy for me. The economy, National Debt, Political stance, etc. I have to agree with Lee, and let a few more than normal of my shares go, Just to be on the safe side. Better safe than sorry I feel, and I have been holding many shares since 2004. Now that that is done, It really is captivating me to see CVGW holding so well in the high 21, 22 area. It is looking like it want to break out to the up side, and hit my old target of $27.00. I cannot figure out why it is acting so strong, other than all the efforts of management are starting to gel, and the prospects do look bright. So it it all adds up to mixed bag, and of course since I sold some it will no doubt go strait up. Isn't that the way it always works???

    • Thanks for the insight Greentip. I was getting a little worried. Maybe it is time to emulate management and lighten up before the cap. gains rates go up.

    • Just started to accumulate stock about 3 weeks ago. Been watching it for quite awhile, and it wasnt until I watched the CEO of CHIPOLTE (CMG) state that they use 86,000 lbs of avocados daily that I finally pulled the trigger. CMG has opened 1000 outlets, and want to get to 4000! Also Calavo has some sort of relationship with LMNR which is interesting. Love niche stocks and this one seems to fit the bill!!

Interesting numbers. I saw that the CMG use of Avo's but as they have 1000 outlets it is only 86 #s per outlet. Not really a big number. If they expand x4 and use 86 #s per it is still not a big number. But, of course it helps---
        The shipment of
Avo's may be close to 1 billion $'s this year. And it's going to grow.

LMNR has about 600,000 shares of CVGW and CVGW has about 15% of LMNR.

As a point of reference figure that CVGW buys the Avo from the grower at about 84 cents a # this year.
