I feel like dumping and taking the loss. ....Just checked the chart....I see a pattern of selling right before the year's end( Nov-Dec) and then a move up. I am not the most experienced investor....But I think I will hang in there. Hope you have a good evening DB...dave from Jerzey...Let me know what you think? Thanks
more insider selling last two days by ex-ceo. sold 10K shares, now has 23K left. It typically is not a good move to buy right before ex-div date. You want to buy 1 month before the anticipated date to enjoy the ride up. I think today was more insider selling by any number of people. Nov-Dec is their weakest time but I suspect most of the selling is just people taking LT gains.
I am looking to buy more under $15 but will be patient as the insiders are sloppy sellers
If you have gains and want to offset the tax liability its not such a bad idea. Then again, there shouldn't be much year end tax loss selling in the name to drive the price down too much, but who knows.
It was at the top of the price range, but given the FEDs latest prognostications and CPI falling, its difficult to see why Div paying stocks would go out of fashion - especially one that isn't expected to grow revenues much and therefore unlikely to disappoint. You could always sell most of the position, and then $cost average in at 2/3 point price levels 3 or 4 times, getting more shares as the price declines for the dollars invested. This seems to be the perfect stock for this tactic - and a bit more mentally comforting as you don't mind if the stock goes up or down as much as if it goes up you're making a small profit and if it goes down you're filling out your intended position at cheaper prices.
At the end of the day though you have to be comfortable with any position you have, and no stock is worth worrying about too much.
I have a habit of worrying too much. Yes. I really appreciate your reply. I might just hold on for awhile and stop checking the price fluctuation with CLCT and all the other divy payers. I learned from you not do buy a dividend stock like CLCT a week before the ex dividend. I need to wait longer like a month like you said. Thanks, Dave from NJ.....
