when i saw the GNTX sell-off on the postponement of required rear view cameras i initially didn't realize that a legal requirement really doesn't matter.

because fat people will do anything to avoid dieting sufficient to be able to turn around in their car seats...

and DUMB people can't figure out that backing up slowly is all the cure they neeed.

so that's how i missed the lows... darn!

i have to number myself among the dumb people for that but... better late than never.

The reason for the rear camera display is not because fat or lazy people don't turn around to look. And it certainly isn't because people don't back up slow enough. It is because you simply cannot see what is directly behind your bumper, no matter how much you look.
Too many children have been hurt or killed because they happened to be playing right behind a car and were not visible from inside the vehicle.
With that said, the Gentex product is OK, but is certainly not the best display out there. I think the best option is in the large display multimedia screens that most vehicles not have.
Last I saw, Gentex only has a display that goes up to 3.5", that is too small for any real details.
Not their fault, they are just limited by the size of the mirror that they can use.
I like the law requiring the displays, just think it is better to be in other locations.
