Obviously there MUST be some positives. Its a mind challenging job that gives you a lot of satisfaction. Tax preparers enjoy helping others. Flexible hours. Many preparers are retired so they just work a few months for a few extra bucks. If you put in enough hours you qualify for unemployment comp for the rest of the year. Although we may not like the Company, the other tax pros are intelligent and fun to work with in a cooperative, professional work environment. And finally if we stayed home we would spend more time on these boards putting up with rude jerks like you.
Most of the negativity on this board is from short selling weasels. This will be my first year as a seasonal tax preparer with HRB. I look forward to the challenge. If it does not work out i will go elsewhere.
I do understand how a long time employee could develop a bad attitude. These last two years have been rough everywhere and a large number of good people have been hurt by the economic conditions.
