These dire prognostications about a flat tax seem to come out of the woodwork before every presidential election. It is true that a flat tax would not be good for companies in the tax preparation industry, but we don't have a flat tax now, and if there's any credible indication that we will have one in the foreseeable future, then I have missed it.
