Some people in america may be poor.
But they long for nothing.
Many people are over rewarded for sitting on their rear end every day.
The last i read a average welfare recipient received about 35K worth of benefits a year. The people that work the intersection with the signs can bring in 40K per Charlotte Observer newspaper. These benefits are not taxable and if they did not have earned income they would not need to file a return in most instances. If the guy with the signed also cleaned windshields he could file as SE for EITC and CTC.
What I don't understand is why Block is doing free returns during peak when their offices are filled with people eager to pay. Liberty does their free returns in March when preparers are sitting around doing little anyway. Neither makes sense to me, but at least doing them in March isn't impacting service to paying customers. How does Block think this makes sense? Or don't they explain it?
