    H&R online standard state sales tax deduction calculation way off... why?

    I'd like to understand why H&R calculates a standard state sales tax deduction as a much higher amount than the IRS calculator and also that of Turbotax. I'm all for getting a bigger deduction but almost a $1000 more than the IRS, that's definitely a red flag for me.

    Here are my numbers:
    Exemptions = 1
    Income between 80-90K
    State = WA
    Sales tax rate = 9.5%
    No big purchases

    IRS and Turbotax deduction calculations = $1331
    H&R deduction calculation = $2242

    Why? What is H&R doing differently?
    Thanks!
