    OT Random Thoughts OT

Here are some of my RAMDOM thoughts about issues/actions which MAY emerge in 2014.

#1. Unemployment rates will continue to drop for all the WRONG REASONS. This drop will give the FED cover to more quickly taper QE. As QE goes away interest rates will be allowed to rise thereby providing the large banks with windfall profits which IS THE INTENT OF THE FED.

#2. Bitcoin will be recognized as a significant threat to large financial institutions. As Bitcoin and their ilk become more popular there will be a HUGE PUSH to regulate or outlaw them by our government(s). This push for regulation will be ALL ABOUT protecting the banks and their control of our economy. The government(s) and big banks WILL NOT allow Bitcoin or their ilk to succeed, they will do everything possible to “nip it in the bud.”

If I'm right about both of the above you might consider investment in large financial institutions. Such investments will likely make you money unfortunately it will also prolong these institutions dominance of our society.

#3. Our government (Democrats) will do everything possible to increase the dependence of certain segments of our society on government. This will become more difficult due to the drop(?) in unemployment but they'll figure out a way to explain their actions. Class warfare, immigration reform and raising taxes on the “rich” for transfer to the “poor” ( income equality) is vital to assure the vote of the Democrat base in 2014 and 2016.. Obamacare will erode this base as the middle class Democrat voter discovers how they're getting screwed by this Ponzi scheme, so it's IMPERATIVE to aggressively pursue the votes of the “poor.”

#4. Once state and local governments get a sniff (?) of the taxes that can be generated from legalization of Pot legalization will spread like wildfire. I predict that Pot will be made legal in almost all states in 5 to 7 years regardless of the impact it may have on society (a mellow society is a compliant society). Think about how you might get in on the ground floor of this emerging industry. If anyone has any idea on how to invest in the emerging Pot industry (short of being a grower or seller) PLEASE POST THEM. Also think about when Pot becomes legal what industries will suffer (booze, some now legal drugs, etc.).

#5. Since I see no end of the increase of government debt (and I'm old) I will look to increase inflation insurance to 5% of my total portfolio value. I'll likely start to buy this insurance in the form of physical silver coins when silver drops into the $18 range.

    Just my thoughts.
