No I relie on the text. And yes you do prevert the text. I have a PhD in biblical studeis, and read and study these texts in their original language and the historical circumstances that prompted these texts to be written. You have shown no knowledge of these texts, but ratehr a flimsy interpretive tradition that speaks in place of the text.
