    My apologies

I apologize to all for my personal confusion of AIGs press release on warrant. I thank cwn600 for setting the record straight. What threw me off are the due bills.

I do have a question for cwn600 - if someone executes a buy trade for the stock on the 14th, 18th or 19th (and hold through the 19th) are they still entitled to the warrants (even though the trades settle on the 20th or later)? I think I finally agree with you, but I'd rather hear it directly from you.

As always, these are personal opinions and everyone should do their own due diligence and decide for themselves.

      Uh-oh ...

"if someone executes a buy trade for the stock on the 14th, 18th or 19th (and hold through the 19th) are they still entitled to the warrants"

Yes! That's what I've been trying to tell you all along!

Awww, it's almost like watching my little gnu grow up!

"even though the trades settle on the 20th or later"

      Yes, even though.

"I think I finally agree with you, but I'd rather hear it directly from you."

Well, I'd rather you didn't hear it from me. I'd rather you read it at the links I gave you yesterday. I'm nobody. There's no reason for you to believe me. But the written rules at the NYSE, FINRA and NASDAQ ARE something to believe.

      "these are personal opinions"

No, these are NOT personal opinions. I have been explaining (or trying to) the actual rules that dividend dates follow. There's no opinion involved. The links I've posted lead to the actual dividend rules, not the NYSE's opinion of how they should work.

"everyone should do their own due diligence and decide for themselves"

Well, that first part is a good idea but as we've seen here over and over and over, that second part doesn't seem to work very well for an awful lot of posters.
