The treasury made a handsome profit. The shareholders lost 95 cents on the dollar (give or take). That was hardly a sweetheart deal. Get over it. The world economy does need a few very large financial institutions to function. Without AIG those policies that covered Sandy would have more expensive. Quit grandstanding. There are few pure heroes or villains in this mess. The chaotic dynamic of markets makes some booms and busts inevitable.
