Need a republican president to consume more coal

Barack Obama does not balance between gas and coal Need to do both to stimulate the economy. This is a one way president

    • It is the people that burn coal are the problem not the mines. Companies that have burned coal have gotten away with murder for years with no regard for human life or the environment. All they have to do is spend some of the billions they make in profit to build pollution control precipitators, scrubbers and other devises to control the release of mercury, sulfur, and other toxic pollutants. Industry has known for years that they must comply with changes but many have done nothing. It is called greed.

      Sentiment: Strong Sell

    • I don't think it matters who is president. The hard facts are that coal is the most reliable and economical source of baseline power. Both in the United States and the rest of the world.

Obama fell for the 'cheap and plentiful' natural gas nonsense. Natural gas is neither cheap nor plentiful and increasing ng production is not going to be easy.

Natural gas production has maxed out and we will have stable or declining natural gas production for many, many years. And at natural gas prices between $5-$8 which guarantees that coal will be the source of baseline power for a long time.

Any nitwit knows that fracking is the end of the line for natural gas. Then last gasp for natural gas. We would never have turned to fracking had not conventional ng plays become exhausted. We have had declining production from conventional ng plays for the last 30 years and that is not going to change.

Chip Goodyear, ex CEO of Billiton, a mining company with a market cap of 100 billion dollars has stated that ng will only be used as fill in or back up power production - como siempre.

    • We need a Republican president who isn't a socialist like the present one.
