There's a dirty little secret about solar panels. Manufacture requires several very nasty chemicals, including arsenic, cadmium, lead, acid fluxes, and chlorinated solvents. Cadmium has already been banned as a coating on fasteners because it is a KNOW CARCINOGEN. The manufacturing process itself gives off GREENHOUSE GASES. During use, the panels outgas as uv rays cause decay. And at the end of life, or when cracked by storm damage, there is no know environmentally safe way to dispose of or recycle.

    • It doesn't matter - perception is everything to Greenies. For example, the Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) is beloved by Greenies because it uses marginally less power than an equivalent lumens incandescent bulb. But CFLs have mercury in them - a toxic, heavy metal that turns a CFL into a hazardous waste spill when it breaks! LOL. But the Greenies LOOOOOVE them!

Similarly, natural gas is composed mostly of methane, which is a greenhouse gas with many magnitudes impact on the atmosphere than CO2. But still, the Greenies LOOOOVE natural gas! And that's all that matters.
