    Gov Earl Tomblin -D W Virginia... obama does not have the power to exercise his "will"...

    he and the epa will be challenged legally... clean coal is a "valuable" resource for the great USA.

    • To a large extent he does have the power as the administrative agency interprets the law. Of course, there will be a fight over whether or not the rules are consistent with the law.

      In the meantime, no one will invest in a manner that isn't consistent with how the rules are drafted so it wouldn't matter if the rules are eventually going to be overturned in any event.

      • Obama's will can be crushed by simple economics. People don't care about anything until it hits home. Higher electric rates and lost jobs will do far more to settle the outcome of his stance on coal. Imagine how upset people get when gasoline prices get high and the effect on the economy. How upset do you think they will be when their utility bills go up more than they are used to paying? Remember, most people pay roughly the same every month so it will be noticeable to everyone. No coal means higher natural gas prices. What will compete with natural gas to keep prices in check?
