Obama's will can be crushed by simple economics. People don't care about anything until it hits home. Higher electric rates and lost jobs will do far more to settle the outcome of his stance on coal. Imagine how upset people get when gasoline prices get high and the effect on the economy. How upset do you think they will be when their utility bills go up more than they are used to paying? Remember, most people pay roughly the same every month so it will be noticeable to everyone. No coal means higher natural gas prices. What will compete with natural gas to keep prices in check?
