The CEO may have a high IQ, but that does not make him the leader of a rockstar company. Time for a change before Avid folds under his weight. Avid - the once industry-leading company - has tried to shrink itself healthy by getting rid of business units in industries they didn't want to invest in or simply didn't care to understand (M-Audio, Pinnacle, Softimage, etc.). Employee morale has been at a low since the One Avid brand initiatives a few years ago, key talent is leaving, there are absolutely no employee retention efforts, and giving everyone a 25th Anniversary jacket and celebrating executive failure is not going to stop this from turning into an unfortunate train-wreck. The board and investors are not stepping in - if this trend continues it's likely that the remaining flag-ship products will get sold off as well (Media Composer, Pro Tools, Sibelius) which will very likely save them from being completely killed off. Time to swap out the top to layers and start with a new page.
