How is your hypothetical Mr Munster portfolio
tracking after last week's performance by

    I'm afraid.

    • On 09/01/00, AVID is still number one in share
      value retained since 03/16/00!

      cndwjdb, MDEA and
ADSK switched places by a hair on
      09/01/00!

cndwjdb,I thought you meant July 2001 and not July 2000 in
reference to the termination of prior restatement of
earnings. People on this board seem to forget that AVID
generates healthy revenues each year and among the basket
of five is second only to ADSK in yearly revenues.
Once the restatement of prior earnings have been
completely flushed, I expect to see an increase in earnings
from revenues in 2Q2001 and a "sharp" increase in
earnings from revenues in 3Q2001 which will return the
share price of AVID to the high $forties and
      beyond!

      • I wouldn't rank Avid as a Strong Buy short-term
only because the stock has a tendency to be volatile.
It can easily dip back down to 12s, or back up to
16-17, it's just too hard to say.
        If you're a
day-trader in this stock you're an idiot. It's just too
        volatile.

I consider myself long-term, but I do plan to sell
within the year, so define that as you will. I've owned
Avid for 1.5 years, and am in at 17ish. Granted I
could've dumped a few months in when it shot to low 30's,
but hey, live and learn. I'll be happy to get out in
high 20's with long term sale lowering my tax
        responsibility.

Are you sure about Soft not off books
until mid next year? I thought it was only six quarters
        since acquisition.
