There may be a bump followed by a slide, but AVID buying more companies might not be good news on Wall Street. My guess is that the 'street' is going to cool its heals on Avid until Q3 numbers arrive. I could be wrong, but Avid, like most public firms today, needs to show it can do more than spend money and issue press releases. That was good enough a year or two ago, but in todays market they will need to show growth and profits to get much action from the market.
