    Bow Wow

In typical Avid Fashion They want to charge
and insult their clients by giving all 10.0
users free upgrades to 10.1 and then releasing
10.5 two months later for 495.00
Just a slap in the face to people who shelled out for 10.1
They have also discontinued promotions running
for 18 months Thus what was free for 18 months
is now a 10 Grand option = price increase

My advice Buy in at 5.00 it will go to 3.5
then be taken over. A string of shitty management has really hurt this company
Their best asset is the name trade name AVID
Now i'm going to "review and approve"

    • Give us a break!!! If you don't have $495.00 to spend on upgrading your system then I strongly recommend you find another career.
Avid has spent a lot of money developing NEW products to further enhance your Day Rate and I recommend you take advantage of this. For 500 Bucks (V 10.5) you get:
Software Crawling Titles Horizontal and cross screen crawling titles.
Windows 2000 support Enhancements to Real-Time Moving Mattes
      Intraframe´┐Ż editing enhancements
Increased intraframe editing capabilities will allow users to clean scratches on a full film frame (or both fields on film-based interlaced projects).
      Support for Broadcast WAV

Now, assuming you have not upgraded for 18 months, I probably assume you are quite happy to stay where you are. Remember one thing, AVID is in business to make money and holding a "Trade-In Value" for over 18 months is unheard of in this industry.

If you had a client come back after 18 months and want a revision done to a project you edited, would you do it for free.
