    Why disagree?

With 2.5 times book as a good buyout price?
Do you think it is too high? I think with a small bank 2X book is probably more accurate which is about $9 per share.

The one caveat here is that AMPB has a niche that many other banks do not have and that could be very attractive to an acquirer.

I will say $9 but leave it open to $11-13 if
someone is interested in paying up.

Some small banks in the San Diego market sold for 2.5x book so that is my comparison.

Either way, my conviction that AMPB was severely undervalued at $3 looks accurate.

    • Great points bidupbid. Yes, I think I understand what you mean about AMPB having a niche-it's customer base is, generally speaking, very loyal.
There is no question in my mind that this company is a very good buy at $6 per share. The 2nd, 3rd & 4th quarter earnings should continue to show significant increases over last year. The Fed will not start to raise rates in May(the economic numbers don't warrent it), and even when they do, there will still be a period of perhaps a year when banks will continue to rake in the profits. AMPB has a nice PE relative to the market, the industry and the sector.
On any level it appears to be a terrific investment...hey, the market is down big time today and we are up..what..17%today as I speak.
      Not bad.
