Brookdale Senior Living Inc. Message Board

    History repeats itself. no doubt.

It's amusing reading the messages and watching the stock price. Have any of you guys been involved in this industry before? Look back to the '90s.

Roll-ups in this business just plain don't work if you can't manage what you already own. With a low margin business like this and with a potentially softening economy, and paying dividends (LOLOL), this is a classic case of the roll-up that will, indeed, blow-up. When management is paying these prices - well, in my opinion, it's just unreal. Kudos to the sellers at these inflated price! But I wouldn't want to be left holding the BKD bag when they figure out that this business model doesn't work.

    We'll see, huh?

    • I totally agree. Heck, this happened in the early 2000's too.

How many people in senior managment have solid operations experience? There seem to be more accountants than operators.

Maybe they've learned from their prior mistakes. Only time will tell.

      Good luck
