Man - There is only word for you SCHIZOID!!
Right move, wrong reason....Read over what I said and THINK it over carefully... and in maybe 10 years you will get it....but then again probably NOT!!!
congrats....this is the post of the day.....i have printed it out and have hung it up by my computer.......i'm even recommending your post........thanks for the illogical "logic"....you've made my points iron clad!!!!!
Now I know you are off-the-deep-end, Ya' DUMMY.
SO you are saying having a gain from 2.50 to 12 in ten years, which is 17% compounded annually for all ten years is something to commit suicide over???????
So another words you ignored you investment and then saw you had ONLY made 17% compound each and every year, you would think you were a failure????
HEY Wrong_Way_C_Trash --- You've Done It Again.
so what you are saying is that the "investor" that bought AMAT at $2.50 watched it go to $50 in this example....is an astute individual because they are still up 5 times on their money????.......were you born with a box of rocks inside your head or did someone surgically implant them????.......that is one of the most pathetic, lame ass examples i've ever heard...........watching paper wealth disappear destroys the mind no matter how you try and sugar coat it......ohhhhhhh....and the argument that "it'll come back" is an even bigger hoax........how do you or anyone know?????? please explain!!!!!! there are thousands of companies over the last 100+ years including industry leaders that reached all time highs.....and investors never sold anything and watched them drip away...slowly but surely and they had brokers and other hacks that sound just like you.......how many people were told the same thing with LU or WCOM or a whole host of other "modern" day market leaders.......you're out of your league.........i wish i met you three years ago......i would have shorted everything in sight...............you are a perfect example of why investors have lost TRILLIONS!!!!!....what sound does a sheep make......BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
No - dummy.
If long-term investors bought AMAT for $2.50 a share(ave. price about 10 years ago).
And they watched the stock go up to about $60, but they still held, your logic says all AMAT holders lost from $60 to $12!!!
Because that's how you are figuring the decline in market value - (High price-Current price) * Shares Outstanding. But not all shares traded at the ALL-TIME HIGH, Ya' DUMMY.
