Your are invited to enjoy some fun entertainment on the Yahoo Message Board for Converted Organics (COIN). There you will find a most fascinating world of cloak and dagger, good versus evil, Longs versus shorts, truth versus twisted truth. This Yahoo message board has the making of a wonderful short story.
With all the interest in Short Selling by the SEC and now the FBI and Congress, this person or persons (who we really don’t know his or her real name) are what give short sellers and the process of shorting stocks a bad name.
Let us put the company aside and focus on the players on the message board. There are the defenders of the company, those who have been on the message board for months contributing information one hopes to find on a message board backed up with a source. Then there are some longs who are also contributors with short micro burst of information (excited) who can, for a lack of a better word be called, pumpers. And then there are those who come and go as the stock goes up and down. Then there are the antagonists of the stock (Shorts): The Shorts have almost the same attributes as the Longs, some have been around for months, and some shout out micro burst of information, and some come and go as the stock goes up and down. you forgot ppl like me who have been long when the company was trading around 8 bucks saw it come crashing down and then we just cashed out feeling like our money is being wasted sitting in this company and trying to recover so we sell and move on..how we hate the management because of teh potential business that they had but instead of trying to move it forward they are trying to figure out all the glitches and still not making enough sales to cover the costs and thus making this company a POS!
I am not short on this company or anything nor do I have any positions but until they start getting their act together I would stay out. Come back in IF they lose their management. I am sure Teletubbies could run the company in a better way then Mr. Gildea!!
Amen, Cuda and Penn, mdx was all rah, rah right up to the point when Ski and Dono (two of the more learned posters) hit the brakes and began voicing their concerns over management and technology. Mr. Gildea has made some mistakes and admitted as much in one of CCs. Gee, who knew that the digester coatings were going to be an issue? Scheduled completion of the fix is what, sometime in March? Just in time for Spring production (we hope). I'm sure we'll hear more on the Q1 CC. All of this doom and gloom about COIN being a POS company and all is mere fooder for the likes of Remo/Ryder et al. Bottom line mdx, don't risk more than you can afford to lose and if you can't stand the heat, GTFO!!
Noone forgot about you, you ain't worth mentioning, you should have accepted your poor trading years ago, and took another position or moved on, rather then still have the mental agony of a poor decision you made. sunk costs are apart of a business as such, u bought into the early hype and the $8 reflects the hype not the opportunity. Current price reflects entry point for growth for large sunk cost production. The time is now, you obviously have that as a gut as thats why you are lurking here now likely. Im not saying this will get to $8 anytime soon or ever, I am saying this is buying time and growth will happen soon if it were to happen ever. Exposure and market share aren't over night (except maybe for tech), it takes time, not shortlived hype time, but long good product producing results time. A) get over the past and move on B) jump in the game and see if what you believed in before is still here, but your ego or expectations were off, and you accept that, and still believe in the COIN. Worrying about past lost, is the basics of a gambling problem. Overcome that and take a fresh look, and it will be invaluable in many ways, whether u take another position or not. Having the mind frame of well I lost thousands on this stock and id need to double that to be happy with this, isn't a conducive view, its self defeating and pessimistic. If you feel that this is a good entry point and maybe things are looking optimistic and growth is near, then jump in, but jump in not with expectations of recovering lose, but jump in if you feel its profitable to your suitable degree, not the 'needed' degree to recover loses associated with 'this stock'.
You are telling someone to avoid a .85 stock and buyer beware and you got burned at $8.00,that is total BS.You should have been giving out those warning signals when it was 8 bucks, now STFU and let us trade this penny stock.IMO you should have start warning the short positions that this may possibly have some huge upside(maybe)it is a whole lot more risk going short a few dollars to the upside than losing the .85 down to zero.GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would be a liar if I said I never get caught,I'm riding for free, and ya never know.I usually do not hold much of anything(but)if the company can manage to stay a float it may work.IMO, I do think the shares will go lower.I'm done trading this for now I have some others that I am into heavy http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=BRK-B
This same scenario is found on almost every message board. Any new or old investor, trader, or whatever their agenda might be, should do their on DD and invest or not invest according to their belief.
Now, this may seem like a typical stock message board on Yahoo, but this is where the twist comes in. in the last few months there has been one self proclaimed short, know to all as Ryder. For all practical purposes, he or them, have take over the message board for Converted Organics. For almost every positive note on the board, he adds his message of doubt or disbelief, a classic tactic for spreading fear and doubt. He has at the least 12 known Yahoo IDs and several others that are suspect, changing them from time to time because people either place them on Ignore, or he uses his other aliases to strike up a conversation with himself, sometimes even arguing different points of a question. There are so many twists and turns to this person and his/her multiple Yahoo IDs, that is hard to believe there is just one person behind all of them.
Some of the Yahoo IDs that are used: Truth.Ryder, Ryder_Cup_Fan, Ryder_Cup_Fan_2, Truth_Justice_And, CoinRyder, Due_Diligence_Dog, ryder4coin, remoadog, remoadog1, Rebecca_De_Herrera, grandolepotty, marion06606, grannysixfibber, and daveyw43 just to name a few. The main reason the board knows that these are all Ryder’s IDs is because from time to time this person slips up and actually admits to them being his/her ID.
Now, one can tell this person has experience doing what he or she or they are doing, by taking a obscure matter, and twisting it to try to make something obvious out of the subject matter. Once again, in some cases he does this by having a conversation with himself using one of the many IDs listed above. The person is great at spreading doubt, in this case about Converted Organics, and boasting about what he is doing , taunting and challenging others to prove him wrong. Simply said, he is able to words things in such a way that he spreads doubt, even in such a way that he is asking those on the message board to prove that Converted Organics is producing a product. Now, if you are new to this message board, one might think that the questions this person has asked are normal. But, when you back to the message board older post from this person, and all the of responses that were given and information available through Converted Organics website, my opinion person is trying real hard to discredit Converted Organics, and as he/she has claimed to be a short of stock, this person is doing so for their personal gain. This is my opinion and I could be wrong.
My guess is that this person know as Remo is really someone who has something against an individual in this company or related to this company and is doing his or her best to defame the company.
Once again, this person or persons (who we really don’t know his or her real name) are what give short sellers and the process of shorting stocks a bad name.
