The New York City Councel is proposing a new law requiring anyone who purchases counterfeit merchandise (knock-offs) to be punished (arrest, fine, etc.). I believe VerifyMe has an app to detect counterfeit merchandise utilizing mobile phone devices.
You mean they're focusing on the buyer and not the seller? Surely the law would address both. But yeah, another possibility for our company. I think the industry is developing multiple sweet spots.
While it has always been a crime or a civil action at the very least for the seller, the buyer almost never is accountable. The new proposed law will focus on both.
