Thanks, Pelorus. You too are right. Duke is the investment to hold and hold and add to in the face of the libs.
About ignore --- NOTHING upsets the "cyber activists" more than being ignored (In My Humble Opinion).
I've also held PGN, but I'm out now. Rang the register on the SO rumor. They're riding the upgrade right now, but I think PGN will have a little pull back in mid December. That will be a good time for me to add a few shares pre-X. I also have some TXU that I bought both before and after the big fall this month. The TXU position worries me a little.
So, should I add to DUK or go back to PGN when I sell TXU ?
A splitting atom is a happy atom !
>>Not sure what you mean. Government oversight of what?<<
I was referring, specifically, to:
>>...government "regulation" will get you every time. These power companies need to be left alone to do what they do, generate electricity and make a profit.<<
I asked if you thought that at least a modicum of government oversight was appropriate in the respect of "power companies".
I, too love to see utility discussions. And, there's some good stuff to talk about like new Nuke plants and carbon emmissions trading. Management shifts and dividends, too.
Duke has been so very good to me. The shares I have now were purchased at $14.
There are a few who have made some money day trading Duke short. I've chipped in a little extra by selling covered calls. But, the real utility game is played in power plants and rate hearings. Now that is exciting stuff ! Lets burn some coal and split some atoms.
All the "noise" on the board seems to be a couple of "cyber activists" and then a couple of investors who can't avoid making a reply (yes, I admit to that).
I've found that using ignore on every ID with "Berry" in it and on any user who posts with the word "spit" in the subject, the agravation level takes a geometric reductions.
